After experiencing an almost 12 hour layover in Chicago, missing our hotel reservation in San Juan and losing an evening of sleep, we finally made it to Dominica. Only then did we learn that Hurricane Dean was expected to hit the island that evening. AGGH! Students met us at the airport thinking that we were crazy to be entering the country as they were desperately trying to leave. We were very blessed that members of the Church took us in and let us stay with them through the storm. Hurricane Dean was only a category 2 when it hit here so we were fine. We actually slept through the majority of it since we were so exhausted from traveling here. The day after the storm we went to the beach and actually enjoyed the waves. Generally the Caribbean Sea is quite calm but that day there were waves. We are getting adjusted and Morgan will start school on Monday, Sept. 3rd. This is our anniversary weekend of when he proposed to me 6 years ago this Labor Day. My how the time flies! Hope everyone enjoys the new blog and we will keep you posted with pictures and stories as they come in the days of the Fifes.

Hey....I like the picture of Morgan and Luke swimming in the Caribbean but who the heck are the 2 dudes standing uncomfortably close watching you guys swim? Was the ocean not big enough for them to swim in their own space?

That's Flint and Court. Yeah I know, seems like no-one has a normal name around here. LOL. They're in our branch and they were showing us the beach.
I'm so glad you guys got there same and sound...and the hurricane didn't eat you. I love the pictures of the "crib" and Luck in the barrel. So cute.
Miss you guys!
