When we first got the piano it was in pretty rough shape. It had been neglected for many years, severely out of tune, and very dusty/dirty. Cleaning this piano and getting it to a playable condition has made me think a lot about the poem "The Touch of the Master's Hand."
Once the piano was professionally tuned and after many hours of scrubbing the piano, it plays beautifully. I have spent several nights after the kids were in bed and the house is so wonderfully quiet, playing my piano. It calms my soul and reminds me that there is more to me than what meets the eye. ;)
How grateful I am for my early birthday present!

It's about time!!!! You totally deserve it. How sad for you to spend so many years without one of your own. But how much you can appreciate it now that you had to wait, right?
I remember how sad I was when you left Oroville because then I had to start playing and trust me, I'm no where as good as you are!
That's really great! The piano looks beautiful and I'm sure the music you make sounds great! What a great talent!
That is a really cool comparison (the Master's Hand). I don't think I've ever heard you play. But I bet you are great. You are so talented. :)
