Eve Walks

Eve is such an active little girl! She loves to "fly" on my legs and it helps give me a little workout too once the other children see Eve flying. They of course have to have their turn!

Last night Eve was the last one down for bed and we decided to play with the camera. She totally looks like her Daddy.
Am I already getting the "please stop kissing me" or what? Eve tries to kiss us too. The only difference is that she uses her teeth!

Eve took her first steps in the play room at Seattle Center when we were in WA for Kristen's wedding. Since we have returned home to Georgia, she has really taken off! Take a look at how well she walks now...

Miriam's 1st Day of Preschool

Miriam started her first day of preschool on Tuesday, September 7th. 3 other moms at Church and I are doing a co-op preschool. We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours and we each teach one week out of the month. I have been missing the fun I had teaching so I think this will be a great opportunity for the both of us.

Miriam was so excited to finally have her own school with other children.

Fun in WA after the Wedding

The day after Kristen's wedding, we spent the day exploring Roche Harbor before heading back to Grandma's house on the late afternoon ferry.

Crazy Luke

On Friday, our family headed to Seattle. Morgan and I went on a nostalgic drive in our old neighborhood in Queen Anne. We had managed apartments there before he started medical school and it felt so good to go down memory lane. After perusing the shops on Queen Anne Ave., and enjoying a bagel from Noah's, we headed to Seattle Center. The weather couldn't have been better! The fountain was a huge hit!

Of course we told Luke to not get wet, but as you can see, it was just too tempting!

After Luke was completely soaked and upset with us for not bringing a belt to hold up his sagging pants, we decided that it was time to head back to Grandma's.

Aunt Kristen's Wedding

On September 1st, Morgan's little sister, Kristen was married in Roche Harbor, WA. Here the kids are on the ferry the morning of the wedding. Do they look excited or what?!

Morgan's Uncle Kendall performed the ceremony and there is the groom, John, patiently waiting to see his beautiful bride.

Miriam and Charlotte were the flower girls. Miriam dumped her petals at the beginning of the aisle and came to sit with me. Charlotte however, did a fantastic job of sprinkling the petals all the way down the aisle!

Uncle Kendall gave a truly inspired ceremony and reminded us all of the love and patience that all marriages need to be successful.

Who knew that being a flower girl could be so exhausting? Charlotte looked angelic sleeping at our table and quickly became the most photographed little girl.

What would a reception be without dancing? Even the kids got to show off their dance moves.

Miriam preferred to dance with her Daddy. She loved being swept around the room and being turned around.

Eve also enjoyed dancing with her Daddy whenever Miriam let her cut in.

Luke's 1st Day of Kindergarten

We are officially the parents of a school age child!

Luke all dressed and ready to go with his Marvel Super Heroes back pack and Iron Man lunch box. "Come on Mom...too many pictures!" I just liked their expressions in this one... So I waited all day to hear how Luke's first day went and the moment he walked through the door, I started asking the questions. He gave no details! He seemed pretty happy though and that is always a great sign. Here's to a great year of learning!

Our Trip to Helen, GA & Anna Ruby Falls

Since this was our last weekend before Luke started school, we took a day trip up to Helen, GA. We had a picnic lunch at Anna Ruby Falls and found out that we had arrived on a very special day...Smokey the Bear's Birthday!

Miriam made a wood necklace and scored a bag of Smokey the Bear coloring pages and knickknacks. Luke was still feeling a little car sick from the drive up so he wasn't in the mood for getting free stuff. He recovered after lunch and then we headed on a short hike.

Along the path we found "clues" with interesting facts about the plant life and the Falls. The kids really got into finding the "clues" and hearing what the signs said.

Christmas already? When we told the kids where we were going on Saturday morning, Miriam remembered going to Helen before when Grandma Fife was in town. She remembered going to the chocolate store and getting a chocolate lollipop. So of course we stopped and had a little bit of chocolate. The drive home was uneventful except an emergency bathroom break just a few miles from home. It was a great day with the family and a perfect end to the lazy summer days.

Miriam my little kitchen helper....always willing to help measure, mix and stir. When I told the family that I was going to make brownies for a special treat, everyone cheered and left the kitchen. Except Miriam. She stayed behind and helped. (It wasn't too tricky since it was from a box, but still...she wanted to help!) Thank you Miriam for always wanting to help me out!
