1- A few Sundays ago we had our friends, Adrian and Diana Peterson over for a quick game of Star Wars miniatures. The Petersons have a little girl- Kairi- that is Miriam's age. The adults were playing games, Luke was watching Donald Duck and the girls were roaming around the apartment. All of a sudden we hear Kairi fall and hit her head on the tile floor in our bedroom. Diana rushes in and hits the floor too. Is that water spilt on the floor? Upon closer examination, we discover that Luke had become so engrossed in his Donald Duck show that he peed the floor. Kairi slipped in it, Diana slipped in it and I was mortified! Diana is a great sport and after running upstairs to change clothes, she returned to finish the game.
2-On Morgan's birthday, I was busy in the kitchen trying to prepare a really great dinner for him. Luke exclaims: "Mommy...poop!" I see my little girl walking towards me with a strange brown object in her hand. Trying to be optimistic, I try to believe that she is holding something other than what my gut is telling me it is. However, this day was not the day for optimism. It was indeed poop that had escaped from Luke's underwear and found by Miriam. I screamed, scared Miriam, carried her to the shower for a good bath while birthday Morgan was stuck with cleaning up Luke. Thanks babe for tackling that one! Anyway, we did get a good laugh out of it later.
ARRRGH!!!! Sometimes Luke is soooo good with using the potty. Today he even told the babysitter while I was at the gym that he needed to go pee. This is the first time he has told anyone other than family that he needed to go. He is doing well for the most part but every now and then there are accidents. Kind of like life if you think about it...

yea, don't even get me started on potty training. I think it is cruel and unusual punishment!!!! the stories i could tell would fill a whole book....and I still have two more to potty train. ag!
I am laughing so hard! I think Luke stoires are the best ones I ever hear!
Just be thankful that Miriam brought it to you and didn't decide to fingerpaint all over the wall with it like Hyrum did one night. Yeah, it was gross and required a total room sanitizing project in the middle of the night! YUCK! Due to Hyrum's cast we haven't officially started the potty training process yet. However, I did just recently read "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day" by Nathan Azrin and Richard Foxx. So we shall see if this actually works once Hyrum's cast is off on May 8th. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun stories to share then. Oh, I can't wait....ha ha!
I just learned about your blog....wanted to share my story...when Amy was born your mom spent about 1 month with me in Sandy, Utah. One night she was our baby sitter while me and Kevin went out. As we drove away 14 month old Keith stood at the screen door waving bye bye, oh so sweet,we thought....later we learned the ugly truth....Keith was standing there pushing poop from his diaper into all the little holes in the screen door, guess who cleaned the door before we came home???? Funny story to tell now!!!!
